Retired police officer shot dead by terrorists at mosque in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla

A retired police officer was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on December 24.

According to Kashmir Zone Police, terrorists fired upon Mohammed Shafi while he was offering 'azaan' in a mosque in Gantmulla. The victim succumbed to the injuries.

Police said the area has been cordoned off after the incident.

Meanwhile, the situation remained tense in the Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu following the deaths of three civilians who were allegedly picked up by Army for questioning in the recent Poonch ambush.

Mobile internet was suspended in the two districts. Several Kashmiri leaders condemned the incident.

The search operation is ongoing to track down the terrorists involved in the Poonch attack which left five Army soldiers dead.
