Jaipur, Nov 14 (PTI) – The counting of votes for the Anta Assembly bypoll in Rajasthan's Baran district commenced on Friday morning. The process is taking place in the seminar hall of Government PG College, Baran, where 14 tables have been arranged.

Officials have indicated that the counting will proceed through 20 rounds. The initial phase involves counting postal ballots, followed by votes from the electronic voting machines.

The results are anticipated to be declared by Friday afternoon. The electoral contest features a total of 15 candidates.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Morpal Suman as its candidate, whereas the Congress has chosen former minister Pramod Jain Bhaya. The independent candidate Naresh Meena adds to the dynamics, creating a triangular contest.

The constituency witnessed an impressive voter turnout, registering 80.21 percent during the polling held on November 11.
