Rahul Gandhi, Congress MPs enter new Parliament holding Constitution

Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury held a copy of the Constitution of India in his hands while leading MPs of his party into the new Parliament building.

Minutes before that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP MPs, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and saffron party's chief JP Nadda, into the new building.

The remainder of the special session of the Parliament will be held in the new building.

Earlier in the day, in his final address in the Central Hall of the old Parliament building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the old Parliament to be called Samvidhan Sadan.

During his address, Modi recalled various laws passed in the building such as the Triple Talaq law and the abrogation of Article 370.
