Punjab govt defends 'Mukh Mantri Tirth Yatra' Scheme in HC amid judicial scrutiny

Punjab government has defended its Mukh Mantri Tirth Yatra scheme before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, emphasising its accomplishments, a report by the Tribune said.

The state govt has submitted an affidavit in the HC stating that the scheme aimed to facilitate residents' religious visits, considering their needs and sentiments.

 

Transport Commissioner Moneesh Kumar stated that over 38,000 jobs were created by the government to address youth unemployment.

The scheme launched nearly 4 months ago came under judicial scanner after a PIL was filed in the HC alleging that the govt did not follow proper procedure.
