In a testament to Punjab’s rich cultural and religious heritage, Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann ji's government has announced a local holiday in Gurdaspur district on September 10, 2024, marking the auspicious occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Viah Purab.

This decision reflects the state’s commitment to honoring the legacy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru, whose teachings continue to inspire millions.

Under the leadership of CM Mann ji, the Punjab Government has prioritized preserving and celebrating the region’s historical and religious significance. The local holiday will ensure that the people of Gurdaspur can fully participate in this revered occasion.

According to an official spokesperson, all government offices, boards, corporations, and educational institutions under the Punjab Government in Gurdaspur will remain closed on September 10. The Personnel Department has already issued the official notification.

This gesture by the Punjab Government underscores its dedication to maintaining the sanctity of religious celebrations and supporting community participation.
