Multiple cities in Uttar Pradesh erupted in protests on Friday. Demonstrations were held in Lucknow's Teele Wali Masjid and Saharanpur's Jama Masjid.
There were reports of lathi-charge from Moradabad city after protestors took to the streets demanding Nupur Sharma's arrest.
Meanwhile, clashes were reported between police and protestors in the Atala area of Prayagraj.
The police also conducted a flag march and reviewed security situation through drone surveillance in Kanpur after security was beefed up earlier in the day.

The northern state had been on tenterhooks since violence hit Kanpur last week following Nupur Sharma's TV debate comments on The Prophet.
The BJP has suspended Sharma and expelled Naveen Jindal over the comments made on the Prophet.
