A day after the BJP fielded sitting MP Upendra Singh Rawat from the Barabanki, an alleged obscene video of him surfaced on social media.

The purported video circulating online showed a man in an objectionable position with a woman.

The MP claimed that the video is completely doctored and accused his dectrators of releasing it soon after his candidature was announced.

In a post on X, the MP claimed that the video was a deepfake generated by AI technology. He said that he would not contest the elections until he is proven innocent.

A case has been filed in Barabanki against unknown accused following a complaint by MP's personal secretary Dinesh Chandra Rawat.

It was alleged in the FIR that a doctored objectionable video of the MP was made public to tarnish his image after he was declared a BJP candidate.
