Aam Aadmi Party's Bhagwant Mann is the new CM of Punjab after AAP landslide.
The former comedy king ditched Raj Bhavan for Bhagat Singh's village for his very special and grand oath taking ceremony.
Two-time AAP MP from Punjab, Bhagwant Mann represented Sangrur Lok Sabha seat.
Mann started out as a stand-up comedian over 20 years ago before joining politics.
From Sangrur village, Mann started his comedy career participating in youth festivals and inter-college competitions.
After gaining nationwide recognition in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge—a reality TV show, he dived into active politics with Manpreet Singh Badal’s erstwhile People’s Party of Punjab in 2011. He couldn’t win assembly seat from Lehragaga in 2012 but when he joined AAP in March 2014, there was no looking back.
Although Mann has had his fair share of controversies, his brilliant wit coupled with oratory skills makes him the quintessential crowd puller for AAP.
