Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has come under attack from the grandson of former Prime Minister and Congress veteran late PV Narasimha Rao.

NV Subhash, who is a BJP leader, said on 26 December 2022 that Rahul Gandhi and his Congress party have "little respect" for leaders not belonging to the Nehru-Gandhi family.

Subhash criticised Rahul Gandhi for not paying tributes to PV Narasimha Rao, even as he has visited the memorials of former PMs like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and even BJP's Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

"The party did not even give a respectful farewell to PV Narasimha Rao after his death. Had PV Narasimha Rao not become Prime Minister in 1991, the party would have struggled for existence," Subhash added.

Gandhi is currently leading a march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir labelled 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. Subhash called it a "futile walking exercise".
