Tamil Nadu: FIR against OpIndia CEO, editor for spreading 'fake news' about Bihar migrant workers

The Tamil Nadu police have registered a case against web portal OpIndia’s CEO, Rahul Roushan and editor, Nupur Sharma on charges of 'spreading fake news' about targeted violence against migrant labourers, The Indian Express reported.

The FIR was registered on a complaint by Suryaprakash, a member of the ruling DMK's IT cell.

The case against Sharma and Roushan has been filed under IPC sections 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups) and 505 (statements conducting to public mischief).
