Sonia Gandhi was unanimously re-elected as the chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party on Saturday.
In the CPP meeting, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge proposed the name of Sonia Gandhi for the post. Other party leaders, including Gaurav Gogoi, Tariq Anwar and K Sudhakaran, second the proposal.
Earlier in the day, the CWC urged Rahul Gandhi to take the role of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The party said that Rahul will make a decision soon.
