The newly elected MLAs of the Karnataka Assembly took the oath in the name of God, Hindutva, and their spiritual gurus, and two MLAs even took it in the name of their political guru, DK Shivakumar instead of the Constitution, as per the News18 report.

As per the report, the MLAs paid no heed to the displeasure expressed by the pro-term speaker RV Deshpande.

Additionally, citing official data, the publication said, 182 MLAs took the oath of office on May 22, and another 34 members the following day.
