Rajya Sabha elections: BJP wins 8 out of 10 seats, SP gets 2 in Uttar Pradesh

The BJP nearly swept the Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh after winning 8 out of the 10 seats in the state. The remaining 2 went to the Samajwadi Party. The BJP had numbers to win 7 out of the 10 seats but it fielded 8 candidates. Cross-voting by at least 7 SP MLAs and a BSP MLA helped the BJP win the 8th seat.
