New Parliament inauguration: Proud and happy, says 97-year-old family member of 'Sengol' maker

India got the new seat of power as Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inaugurated the new Parliament building on Sunday. 

97-year-old Vummidi Ethiraj, member of makers of historic 'Sengol, which was installed in the Lok Sabha Chamber witnessed the splended moment. As per multiple media reports, Ethiraj witnessed the day when the sacred sceptre was handed over to then PM Jawaharlal Nehru in 1947 and he witnessed grand moment 75 years later on Sunday. 

As a symbol of transfer of power, special 'Sengol' was made by holy Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam in 1947.
