'Objectionable scenes' in Oppenheimer: Anurag Thakur upset with CBFC officials, says report

Information & Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has expressed displeasure with CBFC officials for clearing the 'objectionable scenes' in Christopher Nolan’s film ‘Oppenheimer’, Indian Express said. 

The minister has reportedly asked the censor board officials to remove the scenes which show the titular character played by actor Cillian Murphy indulging in a sexual act while reading out verses from a religious text, which appears to be Bhagavad Gita. 

Sources told the Indian Express that action officials who gave a green signal to the scene could face the heat. The movie is currently screening in the Indian theatres.

The said scenes in the movie, which hit the theatres on July 21 has already sparked controversy.
