India's female politicians spoke in one voice as they condemned the sexual violence against two Manipuri women who were paraded naked and molested by a mob.
Congress leader Supriya Srinate questioned whether such an act of violence can happen to a 15-year-old girl in a civilised society. 'Women are not hurt after the video went viral. They are feeling naked,' she added.
Khusbu Sundar, BJP leader and National Commission for Women member said 'As a community of humans we should hang our heads in shame that we still allow this kind of atrocity.'
Shiv Sena's Priyanka Chaturvedi demanded the resignation of Women and Child Welfare Minister Smriti Irani.
