The Special Investigation Team formed to probe sexual abuse case involving Prajwal Revanna has issued a lookout notice against the JDS leader.
Revanna who has been suspended by his party is believed to be in Germany.
According to The Hindu, the lookout circular has been issued to all immigration points across India, including airports, sea ports and border checkposts.
This comes a day after the Hassan MP did not comply with the SIT summons and sought seven days' time.
Citing sources, The Hindu said that Revanna’s return ticket from Germany has been booked for May 15.
In a social media post, Revanna said, “As I am not in Bangalore to attend the enquiry, I have communicated to CID Bangalore through my advocate. Truth will prevail soon.”
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Prajwal Revanna had used his diplomatic passport to travel abroad, and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take swift action to cancel it.
In a letter to Modi, he also asked the PM to take other steps such as using diplomatic and police channels of the Government of India as well as international police agencies to ensure the swift return of the "absconding" member of parliament to face the full force of the law.
