Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Jayant Chaudhary-led Rashtriya Lok Dal formally joined the BJP-led NDA alliance on 2nd March.

Chaudhary met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi and announced the tie-up on X.

In a separate social media post, Shah said Chaudhary will strengthen the NDA's resolve for the upliftment of farmers, poor and deprived classes.

RLD was a part of the INDIA bloc and had contested the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party.

The development comes on a day BJP released its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. RLD is likely to get a few seats from Uttar Pradesh.
