Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) may be in talks with Tamil Nadu's ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, according to reports.

CNN News18 and Times of India reported that the actor-turned politician is likely to meet Chief Minister MK Stalin after the Budget session, that begins on Monday.

Addressing the reports of a possible alliance, the MNM president said, "In two days I will meet you and give you some good news. Work for the general election are progressing well and we hope for a good opportunity. We will announce the decision in two days."

Kamal Haasan, has earlier, indicated leanings towards the DMK-Congress alliance. He had joined Rahul Gandhi on his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Delhi in December 2022.

The superstar is likely to contest elections himself on MNM's recently sanctioned torch symbol.
