INDIA leaders raise slogans 'to protect Constitution' on Parliament premises

INDIA bloc leaders including Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi held copies of Constitution as they entered the Parliament premises on Monday.

With the start of the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, the opposition leaders raised slogans that they would protect the Constitution.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged opposition to cooperate in the functioning of the Parliament.

Following his address, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said the PM has nothing new to offer and as usual resorted to "diversion" in his remarks.
