Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed last rites of his mother, Heeraben Modi at a crematorium in Gujarat's Gandhinagar on Friday.
PM's brothers also accompanied him in performing the last rites.
Heeraben Modi, 100, passed away at a hospital in Ahmedabad early Friday morning 2 days after being hospitalised due to health issues.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi payed a moving tribute to his late mother in a Twitter post.
BJP leaders too mourned the death of PM's mother.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that PM Modi, who was scheduled to visit West Bengal to launch host of development programmes on Friday will do so via video-conferencing.
