Amid a push by BJP governments in several states to implement laws preventing what Hindu organisations call 'love jihad', party leader Pankaja Munde on June 11, 2023, called for respect for genuine love.

She said, "Love is love. Love doesn't see any walls. If two people unite out of love, it should be respected."

"But if there is some sourness or conspiracy behind it, then it should be viewed differently," the politician from Maharashtra added.
