AAP’s Manish Sisodia to meet ailing wife once a week under custody parole

A Delhi Court granted custody parole to former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia, allowing the senior Aam Aadmi Party leader to meet his ailing wife once a week. The Rouse Avenue Court also said a doctor would visit her during the meeting.

Sisodia’s wife Seema is reportedly suffering from an autoimmune condition of the central nervous system. Sisodia’s regular bail hearing was also scheduled for February 12.

Sisodia was earlier given permission to meet his wife for 7 hours in November 2023. According to the application submitted by him, Seema Sisodia suffered an acute attack of multiple sclerosis. 

The ED arrested Sisodia in a money-laundering case stemming from the CBI FIR on March 9, 2023, after questioning him in Tihar Jail. Sisodia resigned from the Delhi cabinet on February 28, 2023.

The Delhi government implemented the new excise policy on November 17, 2021, but scrapped it at the end of September 2022 amid allegations of corruption.

According to the investigating agencies, the profit margin of wholesalers was increased from 5% to 12% under the new policy.heari
