PM Modi congratulates Donald Trump on his return as 47th U.S. President

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt congratulations to Donald Trump on his historic inauguration as the 47th President of the United States. Trump, who took the oath of office on Monday, has returned to power for a second term with a vision to reshape U.S. policies.

In his message, PM Modi referred to Trump as his "dear friend" and expressed optimism about rekindling the strong partnership between India and the U.S. “Congratulations, my dear friend President Donald Trump, on your historic inauguration as the 47th president of the United States!” Modi posted on X. 

He added, “I look forward to working closely together once again, to benefit both our countries and to shape a better future for the world. Best wishes for a successful term ahead!”

India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, represented PM Modi at Trump’s inauguration ceremony, further underscoring the strong ties between the two nations.
