A photo of a train compartment with litter strewn all over the floor has gone viral. Shared by Indian Administrative Services officer Awanish Sharan, the train coach of Vande Bharat Express shows empty plastic bottles, plastic bags and food littered on the floor.
In the photo, a housekeeping staff worker is also seen with a broom to clean the mess.
The sight drew stern reactions from netizens with some calling out citizens' sense of responsibility and some condemning the careless act.
It's not the first time that a dirty coach was spotted in a train. Earlier this month, Railways had requested passengers to keep train premises clean after garbage was found inside the Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat express.
