Pakistan is reportedly looking to mend ties with India and is attempting a “low-key and low-risk” engagement with New Delhi.

According to an Indian Express report, Pakistan has decided to hold its National Day celebrations in New Delhi for the first time since 2019.

The Pakistan National Day is observed on March 23, the day a resolution for creation of an independent country for Muslims was adopted in 1940.

Pakistan High Commission usually celebrates it in its embassy complex. The function is expected to be held on March 28.

Moreover, Pakistan has sent Saad Ahmad Warraich as the new Charge d’Affaires at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi for a three-year term.

The two sides have not had High Commissioners in each other’s capitals since 2019 when Article 370 was abrogated from Jammu and Kashmir.
