On camera: petrol pump staffer beaten to death in Telangana over digital payment

A petrol pump staffer from Telangana was beaten to death allegedly over the mode of payment late Monday night.

Three men who had reached a petrol pump at a village in Hyderabad were allegedly enraged after finding out that the UPI mode was not working, police said.

Deceased Sanjay reportedly insisted on cash payment as they staff had no access to confirm digital payments due to late night.

Captured on CCTV, the accused can be seen assaulting Sanjay, eventually leading up to his collapse. The three then fled the spot in their car.

The three accused have been identified as Anok, Narender and Mallesh, and have been booked for murder, as per an Indian Express report.

Another staffer who was present at the time of the incident said the three were drunk and during the argument, one of them slapped and punched Sanjay causing him to collapse, the report added.
