PM Modi to attend Bhupen Hazarika centenary in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on September 8 to participate in the birth centenary celebrations of the illustrious Bhupen Hazarika, according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's announcement on Friday.

The Prime Minister's itinerary first takes him to Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) located in the Golaghat district, where he will dedicate a bio-ethanol plant to the nation. This significant project has been established with an investment of Rs 4,200 crore.

Following his visit to Golaghat, Prime Minister Modi will head to Mangaldoi in Darrang district. There, he will inaugurate the Guwahati-Ring Road, unveil a bridge over the Brahmaputra connecting Kuruwa and Narengi in Guwahati, and lay the foundation stone for the Mangaldoi Medical College Hospital.

In the evening, he is set to arrive in Guwahati to officially open the birth centenary celebrations of Assam's revered cultural icon, Bhupen Hazarika, as noted by Sarma.
