'No need to panic': Dr VK Paul explains measures taken against monkeypox

Dr VK Paul, a member of the NITI Aayog and the head of Indian government's Covid-19 task force has assured that the monkeypox situation in the country is in control and there is no need to panic. 

He said that the government started taking proactive measures several weeks ago under which 15 laboratories have been set up to test for the viral disease and screening of international travellers has also been stepped up at the airports. 

Dr Paul urged anyone with symptoms of monkeypox to come forward to get tested and treated. 

4 confirmed cases of monkeypox have been reported in India so far.
