Monsoon has unleashed its fury in several parts of the country. Heavy downpour has led to waterlogging, floods and destruction.
In Kerala's Alappuzha district, people could be seen wading through knee-deep waters. Some even used boats to travel from one place to another. Some houses and shops were partially submerged.
Large fields in Kerala's Kottayam were swamped with rain water due to heavy showers. While higher areas were safe, low-lying areas were waterlogged. Visuals from the city show rain water moving swiftly through the fields giving the impression of a river.
In Karnataka's Udupi too people struggled as they navigated waterlogged roads. Some were seen moving through knee-deep waters, others had it easier as the water just about came up to their ankles.
