Monkeypox: Samples of 5-year-old child from UP's Ghaziabad sent for testing

A five-year-old child's sample has been sent for monkeypox testing from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district. 

As per health officials, a clinic informed them about the child who was showing certain symptoms related to the disease. The case was referred to higher authorities after an ENT alerted them about a five-year-old who had excessive rashes and itching. 

According to reports, the samples have been sent for testing as part of precautionary measures.

Meanwhile, the child has no fever or headache, and no history of foreign travel. The family has been asked to isolate the child till the results of the test are declared. 

Cases of monkeypox, which is endemic to certain parts of Africa, have been reported from more than a dozen countries recently.
