PM Modi-led BJP govt defeats no-confidence vote

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP govt defeated the no-confidence motion brought against it by the Congress on August 10.

The motion was defeated via a voice vote after the opposition staged a walk-out during the prime minister's speech.

The Congress had earlier said that it had brought the motion to coerce the prime minister to speak on Manipur in Parliament
