The image was shared on X by ANI on June 15, a day after the conclusion of the G7 summit.
A BTS of the selfie was also shared by External Affairs Ministry on X.
This is not the first time a selfie of the two leaders has trended. In December 2023, Meloni shared a selfie with Modi at the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, adding the hashtag #Melodi, a clever blend of their surnames.
