Mahua Moitra moves SC against expulsion from Lok Sabha

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has challenged her expulsion from the Lok Sabha in Supreme Court. 

Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha on Friday after an ethics panel said in its report that the parliamentarian had engaged in 'unethical conduct'. 

The panel found her guilty of of accepting gifts and illegal gratification from a businessman to further his interest. She was accused of taking money to ask questions in Parliament. 

The ethics panel had recommended her expulsion and on Friday the Lok Sabha acted on it and expelled her.
