An IndiGo flight from Chennai made an emergency landing at Mumbai airport after receiving bomb threat on Saturday.

IndiGo in a statement said that the crew found a note in the lavatory that mentioned there is a bomb.

The flight landed safely and passengers were deboarded at the isolation bay.

Further security checks are underway.

"IndiGo flight 6E 5314 operating from Chennai to Mumbai had received a bomb threat. Upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines. All passengers have safely disembarked the aircraft. The aircraft is currently undergoing inspection. Post completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area," the statement read.

This is the second time in less than a week that the airline received bomb threat. On May 28, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi received similar threat. It was later found to be hoax.
