Maharashtra: massive fire erupts at factory in Nashik district

A massive fire erupted at a factory in Maharashtra's Nashik on Sunday with visuals showing flames and smoke rising from the building.

The fire broke out at around 11 AM in a poly films factory in Mundegaon village in Nashik district, according to officials. Many workers are feared to be trapped inside the factory. 

Several fire engines are at the spot trying to put out the fire. 

"11 workers have been rescued, while several others remain trapped," news organisation NDTV reported quoting a fire department official. 

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, officials said, adding that rescue efforts are underway.
