Maharashtra: 12-year-old girl stabbed to death by man for allegedly 'rejecting proposal'

A minor girl was stabbed to death in Maharashtra’s Kalyan as she walked back home with her mother. The killer, identified as Aditya Kamble, later attempted to kill himself by drinking phenyl.

The girl had reportedly rejected a romantic proposal from Kamble. He was taken to the hospital and faces charges of murder and attempt to suicide.

Before attacking the minor, Kamble reportedly pushed her mother aside. The girl, who was stabbed at least eight times, later died after being rushed to the hospital.

The girl was returning home from her regular classes when the incident happened. Her mother accompanied her and called out for help during the attack.

While the investigation is still on, police officials have bagged the murder weapon as evidence.
