State government aiming to boost MP’s global sports presence: MP CM Dr. Yadav

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav affirmed that the state government is fully committed to supporting athletes in every possible way to enhance Madhya Pradesh’s participation and achievements in international sporting events. 

He stated that the government aims to ensure maximum representation of athletes from the state in global competitions, including the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and is working diligently to help them win medals.

Dr. Yadav highlighted that the state is actively promoting sports activities and building a robust support system for athletes. The government is continuously expanding sports infrastructure and providing top-tier training, assistance, and motivation to sportspersons across Madhya Pradesh. He also assured that the government is prepared to extend full cooperation to the Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association.

The Chief Minister made these remarks during his virtual address at the annual meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association, held in Jabalpur. He joined the event from his residence. Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya also participated virtually, while Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajora and Additional Chief Secretary of Sports and Youth Welfare Shri Manu Srivastava were present at the venue.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav lauded the Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association, noting its consistent contributions to sports since its establishment in 1952. He said, "The Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association has been continuously working in the field of sports since 1952, that is, for 73 years."

He commended the state’s stellar performance in the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand, where Madhya Pradesh secured the third position for the first time. Reflecting on the development of sports infrastructure, he noted that "Madhya Pradesh has more than 22 hockey astroturfs and 15 athletic tracks, which is not present in any other state in the country." The state also houses 18 centers of excellence for sports training.

Dr. Yadav extended his congratulations and best wishes to all office bearers of the Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association for their dedication and ongoing efforts in promoting sports.

The meeting in Jabalpur witnessed participation from various officials and representatives of the Olympic Association, reaffirming the collective commitment to making Madhya Pradesh a sporting powerhouse on the international stage.
