Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that Simhastha 2028 will be developed as a historic spiritual event, with extensive preparations already underway in Ujjain.
As part of the initiative, fully-equipped ghats are being constructed along a 30-kilometre stretch of the Kshipra river, with the capacity to facilitate bathing for nearly 5 crore devotees within 24 hours.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while speaking at the foundation day event of the Public Vani Media Group, held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre on Tuesday evening.
Dr. Yadav highlighted that Ujjain has emerged as a prominent hub for spiritual tourism and underlined the importance of developing sites of religious and spiritual significance.
Speaking in an interview with Public Vani Media Group head Shri Mrigendra Singh, CM Yadav noted that earlier, Ujjain’s development was closely tied to the 12-year Simhastha cycle. “Now, permanent infrastructure is being developed in the city,” he added.
During the program, CM Yadav also provided updates on the state’s broader development plans, including industrial growth, steps to combat unemployment, and the establishment of new medical colleges to improve healthcare access. He also highlighted the Dr. Ambedkar Kamdhenu Scheme aimed at boosting animal husbandry and milk production.
The Chief Minister launched the Public Vani mobile application and inaugurated the Rewa edition of the newspaper. On the occasion, he felicitated several individuals from various sectors including IPL cricketer Aniket Verma, entrepreneur Sangeeta Chaudhary, and Ishita Modi. In journalism, Shruti Tomar and Ms. Acharya were honoured, while Dipti Patwa and Pratibha Tiwari were recognised in education, and Shubham Soni in the sanitation sector.
CM Yadav also extended congratulations and best wishes to the Public Vani Media Group on its foundation day. He was presented with a memento during the event.
The program was attended by MSME Minister Shri Chaitanya Kashyap, former Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta, DGP Shri Kailash Makwana, along with senior officials, public representatives, and media professionals.
