Shoppers at a vegetable market in Bhopal were taken by surprise on Thursday evening when they saw Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav among them.
Yadav greeted the people around him, inquired about their well-being, and bought fruit from a street vendor, an official said.
He then made a digital payment for his purchase.
No cavalcade accompanied Yadav during his 15-minute visit to the market. There were only two cars, the official said.
On his way back, the Chief Minister stopped the car at the red signal, refusing to use his official privilege, he said.
