Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday virtually flagged off three new express trains—Jabalpur–Raipur Express, Rewa–Pune (Hadapsar) Express, and Bhavnagar–Ayodhya Express—from Ujjain, describing the launch as a significant step towards enhancing national connectivity and fostering spiritual unity.

Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is gaining new global recognition. He added that the Indian Railways, guided by Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, is achieving “remarkable milestones.”

“The launch of the new Bhavnagar–Ayodhya Express is a moment of pride, evoking cultural and spiritual connections with Bhagwan Shri Ram and Shri Krishna, who are central to India’s identity worldwide,” the Chief Minister said, speaking on the occasion.

With the introduction of these new services, Madhya Pradesh is now directly linked by rail with key neighbouring states like Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Dr. Yadav said the new trains will boost not just passenger movement but also support trade, business, and tourism. He noted that iconic destinations in the Baghelkhand region—including the Rewa Tiger Safari and the revered Maa Sharda Devi temple in Maihar—will now become more accessible. Likewise, tourism to Jabalpur and Bhedaghat is expected to rise.

Highlighting the progress of the Indian Railways over the past decade, CM Yadav said, “Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, a record budget of ₹2.65 lakh crore has been allocated for Indian Railways in 2025–26.” He also mentioned that the Jabalpur–Raipur Intercity Express would play a vital role in strengthening interstate connectivity.

Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw also addressed the gathering, stating that Prime Minister Modi shares an “emotional connection with the Indian Railways,” which remains a lifeline for the country’s poor and middle-class population.

He added, “The government, guided by the Prime Minister’s vision, has undertaken transformative projects over the past decade to modernise the railways. These include new train launches, production of modern coaches, and station redevelopment.”

Shri Vaishnaw further stated, “The new Rewa–Pune train will enhance connectivity and the new Jabalpur–Raipur train will benefit tribal regions.” He shared that in the past 11 years, over 34,000 kilometres of new railway tracks have been laid, averaging 12 kilometres per day. More than 1,300 railway stations are currently undergoing redevelopment.

The Union Minister also noted that premium trains such as Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Namo Bharat have improved domestic connectivity with modern, affordable amenities. He announced a slew of upcoming projects including a new train between Porbandar and Rajkot, a coach maintenance facility at Ranawad Station, and a new rail line from Sardiya to Bansjaliya. He confirmed that the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train would soon be operational, covering the journey in just 2 hours and 13 minutes.

These new train services are expected to strengthen connectivity across Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, delivering direct benefits to commuters, traders, and tourists alike.

Union Minister Vaishnaw expressed his appreciation for Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s support in facilitating railway expansion in Madhya Pradesh. “Due to the ‘Double Engine’ government, no project remains delayed for long,” he said.

The event was attended by several Union and state ministers, public representatives, and citizens from across the country, both physically and virtually.
