Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday announced a special Raksha Bandhan gift for beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana, declaring that an additional ₹250 will be transferred to their bank accounts on August 7.

This amount will be in addition to the regular ₹1,250 monthly assistance provided under the scheme.

Describing the bonus as a “small token of love from a brother,” the Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing a Raksha Bandhan celebration organised by women employees of the 'Best Lifestyle' company in Ujjain.

“Every woman of the state is my sister — it is my pride and my honour. The Madhya Pradesh government is fully committed to ensuring that no sister faces hardship,” Dr. Yadav said during the event. He noted that 1,500 women are currently employed at Best Lifestyle, and the workforce is expected to grow to 4,000 following the allocation of a new site to the company. The upcoming facility will also include residential accommodations for women workers.

Highlighting the state’s growing textile sector, the Chief Minister praised the role of Pratibha Syntex, a key local employer that currently engages over 7,000 women. “I bow to the hardworking sisters who are the backbone of this progress. For me, my sisters are everything,” he said. The company, which produces export-quality garments, has already shipped over 11 lakh units to the United States and aims to reach 20 lakh in the near future.

Dr. Yadav also cited Ujjain’s transformation into an emerging textile hub, noting that where once local mills employed around 5,000 workers, the figure has now exceeded 20,000. “Industries are coming to Ujjain, investors are showing interest in Madhya Pradesh, and this is creating jobs — a matter of pride for our state, both nationally and internationally,” he remarked.

Calling Raksha Bandhan “the king of festivals,” the Chief Minister said it is a celebration of the selfless love and devotion that sisters offer. He urged women to work with dedication in companies that contribute to the state’s development, adding that employment should be viewed as a shared responsibility, not just a source of income.

The Chief Minister also highlighted ongoing welfare initiatives, informing attendees that women employed at the company are receiving ₹5,000 under various government schemes, with more initiatives to follow. During the event, women tied rakhis and applied tilak to the Chief Minister, who in return offered them gifts.

The occasion was attended by MLA Shri Anil Jain Kalukheda, Municipal Corporation Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav, public representatives, officials, and thousands of Ladli Behna beneficiaries.
