On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited the Maharshi Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain and offered prayers at the shrine of Guru Maharshi Sandipani, the revered teacher of Lord Shri Krishna.

The Chief Minister performed Aarti at the ashram, where the rituals were conducted by Pandit Rajesh Joshi. Dr. Yadav also visited the ancient Shri Kundeshwar Mahadev Temple to offer his prayers.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Yadav said, “It was through the knowledge imparted by Guru Maharshi Sandipani that Lord Shri Krishna attained the revered title of Jagadguru (Universal Teacher).”

He added that the ashram’s legacy is “rich, proud, and unique,” noting that around 5,000 years ago, Lord Shri Krishna, Shri Sudama, and Shri Balram received their education there under Maharshi Sandipani’s guidance. He remarked, “Lord Krishna mastered 14 branches of knowledge and 64 arts in a very short time under the tutelage of his guru.”

The Chief Minister said that the ashram is a living example of holistic student development and reiterated, “It was this sacred education that bestowed upon Lord Krishna the stature of a Vishwaguru (World Teacher).” He also remarked, “Today, India is once again reconnecting with its glorious past.” Dr. Yadav extended his best wishes to the public on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima.

MLA Shri Anil Jain Kaluheda, Shri Sanjay Agrawal, Shri Rajpal Singh Sisodia, officials, and citizens were present during the visit.

Members of the priestly family, descendants of Maharshi Sandipani, informed that special programs are held at the ashram every year on Guru Purnima. This year’s celebrations included elaborate rituals and a Panchamrit Abhishek. A traditional ‘Slate Worship’ ceremony was also held for students commencing their education.

Later, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited the Shri Kal Bhairav Temple and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the state and the nation. “From the sacred city of Lord Mahakal, I convey my best wishes for Guru Purnima to the people of the country and Madhya Pradesh,” he said.

Dr. Yadav also expressed confidence in India’s direction under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “India is preserving its ancient heritage while embracing the vision of ‘Virasat Se Vikas’ (From Heritage to Development), and is rapidly advancing toward becoming a leading nation on the global stage.”
