Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has extended his sincere thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh for initiating infrastructure development in the first phase of the upcoming ‘PM Mitra Park’ in Dhar district.
The centrally sponsored mega textile hub is being built on 2,158 acres of land, with a total estimated investment of around ₹2,050 crore. Recently, tenders amounting to ₹773 crore have been floated to kick off the project.
Calling it a major leap for the state’s textile sector, CM Dr. Yadav stated, “This initiative will provide a new momentum to the textile sector in Madhya Pradesh. The state is steadily progressing towards becoming a developed region.” He described the PM Mitra Park, part of the Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel Parks scheme, as a transformative gift from Prime Minister Modi. “It will undoubtedly mark the beginning of a new era in the state’s development and in the textile industry.”
The park is envisioned as a state-of-the-art facility equipped with a 20 MLD Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant, a solar energy-based power plant, “plug and play” (built-to-suit - BTS) manufacturing units, and dedicated housing for workers. Construction is expected to be completed within 14 months.
Providing an update on investor interest, the Chief Minister said, “Applications for land allotment in PM Mitra Park will be invited soon.” He noted that the state has already received investment proposals worth ₹10,000 crore, highlighting the robust enthusiasm of the industry for the park.
Emphasizing the project’s national significance, CM Dr. Yadav said, “The PM Mitra Park will provide new energy and direction to India’s textile sector from Madhya Pradesh. It will generate employment for lakhs of people and significantly strengthen the state’s economy.” He described the project as a visionary move by the Prime Minister and “a historic step toward realizing the goal of an ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India).”
The Government of India had formally approved the establishment of the park in March 2023 at Bhainsola village, located in the Badnawar tehsil of Dhar district. Strategically situated, the site lies 110 km from Indore, 85 km from the Pithampur industrial zone, 50 km from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Ratlam, and 452 km from Hazira port in Gujarat.
