Bhopal is fast evolving into a major centre for innovation and digital transformation, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said.
He highlighted that the Madhya Pradesh capital is witnessing rapid growth across emerging sectors like drone technology, AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality), electronics manufacturing, and green data infrastructure.
The Chief Minister added that the city is on track to become a prominent drone innovation hub, while fields like animation and graphics are unlocking new career avenues for youth.
Global technology domains such as semiconductors and data centres are also finding space in Bhopal’s expanding tech ecosystem.
He noted that Bhopal’s rise as a preferred destination for high-tech industries is the result of strategic planning, strong infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies. “From semiconductors to drones and AVGC to data centres, Madhya Pradesh is becoming a launchpad for India’s digital revolution,” Dr. Yadav said.
AVGC-XR Centre of Excellence: A creative hub at Global Skills Park
The AVGC-XR Centre of Excellence at Global Skills Park, Bhopal, is being positioned as a major training ground and incubator for startups in gaming, animation, and VFX. The facility will include LED virtual production studios, AI labs, motion capture systems, and a render farm — expected to decentralise talent development and reduce dependence on metro cities.
IISER to host Centre of Excellence in Drone Training and Research
A state-of-the-art Drone Centre of Excellence is coming up at IISER Bhopal. It will serve as a platform for AI-enabled drone production, AR/VR-based training, and indigenous drone prototyping. The facility will also house India’s first AI-UAV data repository, supporting innovations in fields such as agriculture, disaster response, and infrastructure.
Kaynes Semicon’s semiconductor unit in Bhopal
The IT Park in Bhopal will soon host a semiconductor unit by Kaynes Semicon under the India Semiconductor Mission. The facility aims to drive advancements in chip design, assembly, and research, enhancing the state’s role in deep-tech innovation.
Madhya Pradesh’s first private green data center in Bhopal
Asia’s largest Tier-4 hyperscale data centre operator is establishing Madhya Pradesh’s first green data centre in Bhopal. Set to operate with zero-emission targets, the centre will incorporate next-gen technologies such as immersive cooling. It is expected to boost the state’s capabilities in AI and cloud infrastructure.
EMC 2.0: 209-acre Electronics Manufacturing Cluster
A 209-acre Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) is under development in Bandakhedi, Bhopal. The cluster is designed to accommodate industries working in mobile manufacturing, semiconductors, PCBs, LEDs, and electric mobility. With built-in factory units and testing labs, the project is expected to draw Rs 1,500 crore in investment and create 75,000 jobs.
Secure Circuit: Towards self-reliance in PCB manufacturing
A new Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing unit in Bhopal is expected to support the state’s fast-growing semiconductor ecosystem. The plant will focus on strengthening self-reliance in defence, automotive, and industrial automation sectors.
CM Dr. Yadav reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting businesses with fast approvals and efficient solutions. He said Bhopal’s development reflects not just technological progress but also a broader vision to make Madhya Pradesh a model state for innovation, skill-building, and digital empowerment — aligned with the goal of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
