Bizarre weddings have become a common occurrence in Madhya Pradesh lately. In an unusual and 'dark' mix-up, two sisters reportedly got married to each other's grooms amidst a power cut.
Nikita and Karishma from Aslana village in Madhya Pradesh were to be married to Bhola and Ganesh respectively. However, due to a power cut at the time of the pheras, the brides got mixed up. Locals present at the wedding claimed that similar attires, and veiled brides also added to the confusion.
There are conflicting reports about how the incident played out after this. One report claims, the mix-up was not spotted till all concerned parties returned to their homes after completion of wedding rituals.
However, another report says that power was restored before the pheras could commence and the grooms, realising their exchange, swapped places before the rituals began.
Affected families blamed power cuts inflicted by the local administration daily between 7 PM and 12 AM as the reason for the mix-up.
