A woman was reportedly thrashed, dragged by hair and thrown out of a temple in Bengaluru after she allegedly spat on a priest.

The woman, who claimed to be the wife of Lord Venkateshwara, wanted to sit next to the idol but the priest stopped her. She then allegedly spat on the priest.

A purported CCTV video of the temple that has emerged shows a man beating the woman and dragging her out while others look on. Another clip shows the man picking up a rod to beat the woman but another man steps in to shield her.

The incident is reported to have taken place on December 21 but came to light after the woman filed a police complaint on Thursday. An FIR has been filed against the accused man.
