A startling video of a violent fight between college students has emerged from Kerala.
The video purportedly shows members of Congress' KSU and CPI(M)'s SFI engaged in a violent altercation.
Both sides blamed each other for initiating the fight.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 15, during inauguration of a college students' union at the Trivandrum Law College.
KSU, or the Kerala Students' Union reportedly claimed that its members were celebrating their victory in the college elections, when disgruntled Students' Federation of India members began assaulting them.
The SFI was quoted as saying that a KSU member had misbehaved with a woman, which led to the fight.
KSU's Safna Yakub, Ashik Ashraf, and Nithin Thampi, and SFI's Anandu were reportedly admitted to the hospital with injuries.
Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reportedly commented in the Assembly on the incident.
He reportedly said that police have registered a case.Congress' student wing NSUI condemned the incident, accusing SFI of following a motto of 'Goondaism, Terror, and Fascism'.

The BJP also used the opportunity to train its guns at both the ruling Left, and Opposition Congress.
