Violent clashes broke out in Arunachal Pradesh's Itanagar on 17 February 2023. Violence occurred during a protest over the case of the alleged paper leak for Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) exams.

Protestors were seen clashing with security personnel. Stones were thrown while security personnel tried to bring the crowd under control with batons.

Police said that the protestors wanted postponement of the swearing-in of the Chairperson and newly-appointed members of the state public service commission.

Prohibitive orders under CrPC Section 144 have been imposed in the Itanagar capital region to keep the situation under control, according to news agency ANI.
