A case of severe mob violence was reported from Bihar's Bettiah amid allegations of custodial death.

A man died after he was allegedly beaten up by police. He had been arrested for a DJ event at a village, according to locals.

Subsequently, villagers attacked the Balthar police station. The building and vehicles were set on fire, and the mob reportedly attacked police officials.

One policeman died in the mob attack, as per unverified reports. Around 10 police personnel were reportedly injured in the attack.

News reports suggested that reinforcements arrived in the area after 4 hours, and the mob was finally pacified 2 hours later.
